In this short film about two close friends, Bauke juxtaposes the tumultuous desert warfare of North Africa with the sedentary life of South Africa.
Yet, through love and loss, the effects of war are deeply felt no matter how far away the fighting is.
It is soldier’s personal account of the tumult around him and the aftermath told with intimate camera work and dialogue.
It pays tribute to the South African men who sacrificed their lives and the families and friends they left behind.
