Dear Steve, here’s wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas, and thank you.
Hello Steve. How I wish I was in England to come down and say hello. Thank you for your service Sir and thank you for being a wonderful example of a human being.
Greetings from New Zealand, Sir! Looking good with your Legion kit. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Dear Steve
Your distinguished service and achievements are not forgotten. Looking good in your Legion regalia, an honour
Dear Mr Stevens, my late father Jack also flew beaufighters for a while in the SAAF in WWII – I have some photos, but can’t send the link in this message box. My father appears with other unknown SAAF personnel in the photos. One photo shows a Beaufighter RD 205 Snake, but the D could be an O if that helps to ID the Squadron. I think he was based mainly in Egypt but spent time in India.
Dear Steve, wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas. Thank you for your service.
Sir,
To you and your family a well deserved and very merry Christmas!
Hi Steve
Wishing you and your family a Merry and peaceful Christmas. I was a SAAF pilot in the late 70’s/early 80’s. Our tasks were not as onerous as your WW2 combat missions but the WW2 spirit was much admired and formed the basis of our strong camaraderie and esprit de corps. All good things to you and your family sir. Sincerely, Dion van der Merwe, ex Capt. SAAF.
Salute…from Australia
Hi Steven a merry xmas to you and a prosperous new year.Congratulations on reaching such a ripe old age you are an inspiration to us all.All the best from Ricky Taylor ex south african artillery.Once a gunner always a gunner.
Merry Christmas Mr Stevens. Thank you for your service.
May you have a blessed Christmas!
Dear Mr. Stevens
I read have your book 2 or 3 times on the exploits of you and your South African colleagues in the SAAF & as part of the Balkan air force & was so relieved that you made it despite many hair raising sorties in your wonderful camera equipped Beaufighters, especially against the Kukkuk in Fiume harbour which I will be visiting and when my wife & self are there we will raise a glass and say a personal prayer to celebrate & give thanks for your long life & your belief in Christ. There are at least two teams working on bringing a Beau back to flying condition and I hope the day will come when the one in Duxford flies again. When it does I will cast my mind back to the SAAF boys who flew these especially yourself.
Great respect for you, Steve. May God bless you to your century
Your fellow Legionnaires n South Africa thank you for your service and wish a Merry Christmas and may 2016 bring joy and much happiness.

Hoping you have a lovely Christmas, Steve! Greatest respect from the son of one of the 6th Div Maatjies you provided air cover for back in 44/45.
Good afternoon Mr Stevens.
I don’t know what squadron you were with but you might have known my father who was a captain with No.4 Squadron S.A.A.F. during WW2 in North Africa, Malta and italy. My besty wishes to you and may you have a prosperous and healthy 2016.
